Harleys and Cuba

This week, we are super proud to feature 2 awesome frames. One will be hung in a motorcycle shop in GA, the other will be on the wall at one of our favorite breakfast joints.

The frame we did for A&D Cycles features a beautiful linen mat with a fillet that matches the outer frame. I can't wait for Andy to see it in person. We think the dark tones in the matting, moulding and fillet all work together to enhance the sepia tones of the antique photograph.

The color's a little off on this photo, but the moulding has a very classic shape.

A close-up of the linen mat & fillet.
Next we move down to Cuba... Our friends at Hobos in NPB commissioned this beauty. I LOVE it! The floating license plate hovers over the Cuban waters. The driftwood moulding is the perfect compliment to both the subject of the frame and the restaurant it will be displayed in. If you're in the area, go check it out!

This is the 3" version of one of our most popular mouldings.

Kid's Chore Chart

If you have kiddos, I'm sure the idea, concept or conversation of a chore chart has come up. But where to start? What should it look like? How do you make one?

Let FanAddict Frames help you with that!

My daughter is almost 5 and let's just say, she REALLY tests my patience sometimes. And boy does she have a mind of her own! Woo.

Anyway, some of her friends from school were beginning to get "chore charts" at home. So the concept wasn't foreign to Rea. She and I discussed for about 2 weeks what we would put on her chart. Our's isn't so full of actual chores as it is just behaviors and things we want her to focus on.

Rea and I settled on 17 things for her chart. Next, I had to figure out how to make it. Naturally, I decided on a framed one... it seemed only logical.

I used our CMC9000 to print the list of chores on the green matboard. Then I made the chart and attached it to the board. We built a beautiful whitewashed barnyard frame for it. We mark the "chores" she has completed with a dry-erase marker.

Halloween Ideas

Before we know it, Halloween will be here! It's a really big deal at our house... we decorate both outdoors and indoors. Almost no part of the house is overlooked. Including the frames on the walls.

Swapping some (or all) of your framed photos and art out for seasonal ones, is a fun way to get in the spirit. Plus, you can keep adding to your collection each year!

And We're Almost There...

A LOT has been happening with the build/move. We began moving into the new shop yesterday. After postponing client appointments, we are resuming normal business tomorrow... And our appointments are filling up FAST! Call or email to schedule yours (561-515-4535 or info@fanaddictframes.com)

Here's how we are lookin' as of last night:

Starting to remove the air & equipment from our Jupiter location

An organized disaster area...

Slowly beginning to take down, pack up & remove the equipment from inside our store.

"Shane's side" of the new location... before any of the framing equipment was brought in.

My desk and the kiddos' chairs are the first things to make it into the new shop. This photo was taken from the back wall facing the front of the store.

Shane & James begin to assemble one of our big assembly tables.

The munchkins are excited about their new chairs and they can't wait for us to fix up their "work space".

This shot is taken from the customer showroom area looking back into the workspace.

Sorry, he's too cute not to include.

This is the front door and showroom area... the window will be installed soon. It's dark because we have the rolling door pulled down (it's too hot in south FLA to let all the AC escape).
I hope to put more pics up tomorrow. Hopefully, we will have made a big enough difference in the state of the shop to show you.

One of our amazing photographers stopped by today. He suggested that we throw a party when we are all settled. I think that's an awesome idea! If you want to be included on the VIP invite list, please send your name and email address to mindy@fanaddictframes.com and RE: party.
